Traffic Jam Donation
Traffic Jam Donation
It happens almost daily. You are stuck in the morning traffic. When it rains, it multiplies threefold as the drivers have never seen the raining drops before.

It happens almost daily. You are stuck in the morning traffic. When it rains, it multiplies threefold as the drivers have never seen the raining drops before. Watching and staring on the wipers, you move inch by inch. Trying to listen to the stupid morning shows or same pop music song repeated 200 times already this week? Not an alternative.
For some lucky ones who are connected to the Internet (some countries, it's still not the case), you can grab a phone and connect the mind to the endless horizon of opportunities and challenges of social networks. Will you first check LinkedIn because you feel smarter and 'managerial'? Or will you check out the latest pics on Instagram following the never-ending celebrity lives? Perhaps some Tweets which were posted from other applications? No? OK, TIK TOK somebody?
What will you do to kill an hour in the traffic?
In February, I visited the capital city of all traffic jammers, Dehli, India (in the USA, I remember it was Los Angeles). When you think you are moving slowly on the highway and your three lanes are like a turbo snail from some cartoon, wait until you see streets of Delhi. What do people do during these times? Do they call a friend, do they chat, spend meaningless minutes or hours on social networks, do they meditate? What do you do?
Please support our non-profit organization. Only 1 Euro helps to go forward.
First of all, you need to kill idle time. Anything idle is, by definition, waste. And you can't afford to produce waste these days. Being wasteful puts you in the position of being slow and inefficient. Especially managers and leaders cannot afford that. They stop for a moment, and they are outdated, obsolete, having inaccurate information, which means they are being replaced. And surely that is not what they want. That is not what you want.
Let me ask you a short question. Has anybody donated to a charity during a traffic jam? You know, browsing through the Internet and just placing 1 Dollar or Euro to somebody in need. The feeling of joy will make your day.
So apart of taking a 'meditation class' during the traffic, apart from freeing your mind from all the thoughts and focusing on the path and apart from killing time listening to your favorite Led Zeppelin album, what do you do?
Morning news
I read the morning news. You got to be able to filter the news streams by know. Leave the National Geographic articles for later night reading (unless you are Jimmy Chin and you kind of need it for your job), focus on materials or podcasts with value add which aren't really to be found by Kardashians. Start with updating yourself with magazines or daily news where you know the editors know sh*t. I mean smarter people than you. This way, you catch a fresh breeze from the authors who are respected from their fields, who studied the topic long hours and weeks before you. With new ideas, you would enlighten yourself with the theme. That makes you more creative by the end of the day. More innovative and faster.
Another possibility is to listen to a TED talk. But which one, there are thousands of them. Well yes, if we had universe time given to us, we would go one by one. But we don't. So choose wisely. I sometimes listen to the stories of people running charities or foundations what their motive is, what their drive is. If you start a day with positive stories, the good news your energy boost will come naturally. Leave the bad news come later, whether it is politics, economy, budget, or new COVID19 numbers.
Information is an asset
Information is an asset. Data is gold, and time is the most precious commodity you have. Treat it this way.
Why people waste their time following celebrities or watch endless hours of YouTubers promoting their product placements if they can learn and be better the next day? Be more informed and focused instead of complaining 'I don't have time for all this, how can you do it?' Don't follow the mind occupiers, get rid of them. There is always an unfollow button, and there is still a piece of right information waiting for you. All you need is to have an open mind for it.
